Sunday Scoop!

I am linking up with the Teaching Trio for this week's Sunday Scoop!

With our new family goal of eating in, I have to plan our meals in advance. I have decided to do this one week at a time so I do not become too overwhelmed. I am in grad school, so of course, there is a pesky little paper hanging out there for me to write. This semester, I am trying to put myself at an advantage and work ahead of schedule. We will see how it goes. :) Also, it is time to schedule some parent conferences. This should not be too difficult, it is just finding the time during the time to make those phone calls.

I had surgery at the beginning of December, so exercise has been off limits for me. I am hoping this week to slowly ease back into some exercise. I love to run, but I was advised to talk baby steps...so baby steps it is. The other thing I hope to accomplish this week is cleaning out my closet. I have done a quick sweep of clothing that doesn't fit, but now it is time to do a thoroughly exam of what wear, what I don't wear, what I want to keep, and what I need to get rid of for good.

Tomorrow we are out of school. I hope to spend this time snuggling with my little girl and doing fun things with her.

How is everyone's week shaping up to be?

  1. Ugh - I am horrible at meal planning. I always forget to take meat out of the freezer ahead of time. So by the time I get home from school, there is no thawed meat which means sandwiches or soup. It's terrible! Eating in is a great goal - maybe I should add it to my goals for 2015! :)

    1. I know what you mean about forgetting to set something out to thaw. I am trying really hard...I keep telling myself it is healthier and saves money (a win-win)!

  2. I started back to the gym the first week in January. I promised myself I'd do at least three days a week and I'm already up to five. It's a great way to wake up each morning, even if getting up early is a little rough. I just watched something on the news the other night that says just walking on a treadmill can make a HUGE difference so maybe you can start there! No matter what, listen to your body. I pushed it last year and paid for it!

I'm putting off cleaning out my closet until I hopefully reach my goal weight. Right now, I'd have to throw out half of my closet because things are a bit snug. Hopefully all this working out will allow me to wear some of my really cute clothes again. I am not ready to part with them!

    Have a great week, Andrea!

    1. I love exercising, but I have just not be able to. My plan is to go for walk this afternoon...after it warms up a little bit outside. Good luck with your exercising!

  3. I know what you mean about exercising. I try to start back with yoga or walking, but literally, I would end up scheduling some time to exercise.

    Have an awesome week :)

  5. We've been making meals-at-home that we actually cook a priority. We enjoy going out to eat, but it's bad for your wallet and your waistline. We've been doing pretty well, but it is hard when you're busy. I'm thrilled to have an extra day to spend time with my husband and kids. Have fun snuggling with your girl!

  8. Hi Andrea! I found your blog via Teaching Trio's linky party...and I am your newest follower! I can't wait to read your future posts. It seems as though a lot of us do weekly meal planning--I know I do. It sure helps keep me organized! I have seen a bunch of cute chalkboard menus on pinterest...maybe I will get around to making that this summer.

    Have a great week!

  9. I've been trying to get back into exercising myself. It's sooooo difficult because I love walks and can do 3-5 miles a day...in the summer. Winter? Not so much. But I just found FitStar, an app for my iPad, and it has 8 minute workouts. Anyone can do 8 minute workouts, right? They're fun and don't burn me out. Start small, you'll get there :)
